Today was the first time I received a massage in years...yes, literally years! I went into a local day spa for a relaxing 1 hour prenatal massage. When the massage therapist asked why I had chosen to get a massage today, I told her about my aching back. I said that I knew that it was a part of the joys of pregnancy, but at this point something had to be done. She completely understood and then began my blissful massage starting with my sore legs and feet and working her way up my aching back all the way to my arms. Aah..it felt so nice. It was just what a pregnant woman in her last trimester needed.
After my hour long massage that could have lasted hours more, I got up and sipped orange infused water and snacked on decadent chocolates. Needless to say that my body was in heaven. Then, I got in my car to drive home and my dear friend, my aching back came back to me in no time at all. Even as I sit here and type I cannot get away from my aching back and I have come to terms with the fact that it is here to stay.
I'm not sure what the moral of this story should be. Perhaps it should be to advise pregnant women to not spend money on prenatal massages when it is only a very temporary fix or maybe the moral is that I need to just accept the fact that this aching back is here and for good reason. Whatever the moral of the story is, I haven't learned it because today my feet started to swell so I booked a pedicure!

Even if the massage didn't cure your aching back, you still deserved to get one! Any moments of bliss that you can grab right now are well worth it - and kudos on booking the pedicure too! haha :)
