THE VIEW - ANOTHER NEW COHOST
There is a new co-host coming to The View. According to people.com, Sherri Shepherd is expected to join the current cast later this month. Barbara Walters is rumored to be announcing the new co-host news on Monday's show, September 10th.

Shepherd has appeared as a guest host more than a dozen times and is no stranger to TV. She has had regular roles on Less Than Perfect, Suddenly Susan, and The Jaime Fox Show. Whoopi Goldberg just started her role as a co-host as well on Tuesday, September 4th.
I suppose we'll have to wait for Monday for confirmation!
KIM PORTER SPEAKS
For the fist time since their split in July, Kim Porter, Sean "Diddy" Comb's ex-girlfriend, is speaking candidly about their break-up.
She recently told Essence.com that she waited until Diddy was out of town before she packed up their house and children and left. "There was no other way. You think he would have let me walk out the door? He wouldn't have wanted me to go," she says. "I wanted to be dramatic. I wanted him to know I wasn't breaking up with him for two weeks – or maybe leaving for two days. If I pack up everything – twins and all – it means I'm out! Puffy's an action person, not a talk person. So I had to have an action. Telling him, 'Babe, I'm leaving,' was not gonna do it."
She said that she ended the relationship for a number of reasons, but also -"because at this point in my life I want something different for myself. I invested 10 years, I have children, and I've always stood by him. But now it's time for me and what I want to do for Kim."
When Essence.com asked Porter if she would marry Combs if he asked her, she replied, "I would say 'No.' And not because I don't want to get married, but because he's not ready to get married. When I get married, I want to stay married. I want both parties to be on the same page at the same time, and to leave a certain type of behavior behind. That's a commitment I don't think he's ready for."
The former couple aren't feuding though. Porter spent Labor Day weekend at Diddy's annual White Party with their three children. "You know how when two people go their separate ways, most of the time there's animosity? It's not like that with us. Sean and I have this bond, this friendship. It's not about 'if you're faithful to me, if I'm being faithful to you.' We're friends. I'm the person he can tell his inner most thoughts to, and he's that person for me. He still calls me everyday and we talk."
She adds, "There's no ill feeling or 'I can't stand you, I hate you, don't call.' There's none of that. We have three children together so that's just not an option. We're committed to our children even if we couldn't commit to each other."
It's always great for the children when the parents are able to stay not only civil with each other but also friends. We wish Kim and Diddy the best in their respective lives.

Hello again, entertainment fans. I've got the lowdown on Fall's upcoming sensations so read on!
UPCOMING TV PREMIERE
There's a new buzz going around Hollywood. The CW has a new lineup of shows and new spots to fill. With the exit of the much beloved "Gilmore Girls," there is definitely a need for a powerhouse hit. Well the old producers of "The OC" may have found it in "Gossip Girl," a series based on the young-adult novels by Cecily von Ziegesar.
The privileged prep school teens on Manhattan's Upper East Side first learn that Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively, "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants") is back in town the way they learn all the important news in their lives -- from the blog of the allknowing albeit ultra-secretive Gossip Girl. No one knows Gossip Girl's identity, but everyone in this exclusive and complicated vicious circle relies on her website and text messages for the latest scoop. Even Serena's closest friend, Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester, "Entourage"), is surprised to find that Serena has suddenly ended her selfimposed exile to boarding school and returned to Manhattan.
Once the Upper East Side's most notorious party girl, Serena's reasons for returning are mysterious, although they may have something to do with her younger brother Eric (Connor Paolo, "Alexander"). Whatever the reasons, the change in Serena is obvious, especially to Blair, whose friendship with Serena has always been competitive and difficult. When Serena was out of the picture, Blair enjoyed her time in the spotlight and she has no intention of going back to living in Serena's shadow. Their uneasy relationship is further complicated by Blair's boyfriend Nate (Chace Crawford, "The Covenant"), a young man uneasy with all the privileges that have been handed to him by his high-powered father Howie "The Captain" Archibald (Sam Robards, "The West Wing"). Now that Serena is back, Blair will have to fight to hold onto Nate's attention. It also remains to be seen whether Blair's loyal lieutenants -- Katy (newcomer Nan Zhang) and Isabel (newcomer Nicole Fiscella) -- will remain by her side or break ranks to follow Serena.
The tension between Blair and Serena isn't lost on anyone in this crowd, since they all live for gossip and scandal -- along with fashion, shopping and partying in Manhattan's trendiest hot spots. This is a world you have to be born into, full of wealth, power, and people like Chuck (Ed Westwick, "Children of Men"). A friend of Nate's since childhood, Chuck leads a reckless life, and constantly pushes Nate to explore his dark side.
The proverbial fish-out-of-water at the prep school are Dan (Penn Badgley, "John Tucker Must Die," "The Bedford Diaries") and his sister Jenny (Taylor Momsen, "Paranoid Park," "How The Grinch Stole Christmas"), middle-class kids whose background keeps them on the fringes of this exclusive clique. Dan and Jenny are attending the school at the insistence of their father Rufus (Matthew Settle, "Into The West"), a former rocker turned art gallery owner, determined to give his kids a first-class education. Rufus has a history with Serena's mother Lily (Kelly Rutherford, "Melrose Place"), a socialite who hides her past as a dancer and rock groupie. When a chance encounter brings Dan to Serena's attention, he suddenly finds himself dating the girl of his dreams. The more Dan discovers about the real Serena, the more he's challenged to make sense of her world. Dan's sister Jenny is the youngest of the group and wants desperately to be accepted. The price she'll have to pay for popularity will take a toll, but at the moment, Jenny is just thrilled to have entry into this glamorous world.
Dan and Serena's relationship is further complicated by the arrival of Dan's friend Vanessa, a Brooklyn rebel and loner who doesn't approve of Serena's world of money, fashion shows and fundraisers. Vanessa's attempts to pull him back to his roots will cause friction between Dan and Serena.
Keeping track of the shifting friendships, jealousies and turmoil in this wealthy and complex world isn't easy, but it's what Gossip Girl does best.
Filmed in New York and based on the popular series of young-adult novels by Cecily von Ziegesar, "Gossip Girl" is from Alloy Entertainment in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Paramount Television Inc. with executive producers Josh Schwartz ("The O.C.") & Stephanie Savage ("The O.C."), Bob Levy, Leslie Morgenstein ("Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants") and Felicia Henderson ("The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air"), and co-executive producer K.J. Steinberg ("The Nine").
The new show is set to premiere Wednesday Sept 19th 9/8c on the CW Network.
MUSIC NEWS
Golden Globe nominee Emmy Rossum is proving her skills once again. The actress who is best known for her work in "The Phantom of the Opera" and "The Day After Tomorrow" is showing the pop scene her skills as a singer. One of the most talented triple threats out there, she is also a trained ballerina, has been spending her time since her last movie in 2004 going to school at Columbia University, and recording her first album. At the beginning of August, Emmy released a 3 song bundle called "Inside Out" exclusively on iTunes, along with an 18 minute behind the scenes featurette.
"Inside Out" debuted at #14 on iTunes Top Album Charts, that's out of all the albums in all categories. The bundle also reached #3 on the Pop Album Charts. Emmy, who showed her incredible vocal range in "Phantom of the Opera," is pulling out all the stops on her new album, which will be out in it's entirety later this Fall. She co-wrote all the songs on the album along with producer Stuart Brawley, and she states on her page at geffen.com that "I feel a real emotional connection to these songs. It’s a real expression of my innermost thoughts and feelings, hence the title Inside Out.” The first song out in her bundle on iTunes, "Slow Me Down," contains more than 150 different vocal parts and harmonies, all sung by Emmy. Wow!
The few songs out already are amazing and introduce a new Emmy Rossum to the music scene! I can't wait for her full album to appear on shelves. The exact release date hasn't been given yet but it will be later this Fall sometime. Until then, the iTunes bundle is available and you can visit her myspace page at http://www.myspace.com/emmyrossum. Tune in to Good Morning America on ABC on Oct 25th to watch Emmy perform songs from her new album.

NEW SHOW COMING YOUR WAY
We all need a little comedy in our lives and there is a new show that will definitely generate laughs. Kelsey Grammer (Fraiser) and Patricia Heaton (Everybody Loves Raymond) star in Fox's new show Back To You.
Photo: IMDB.com
During the 90's the local "it" news team of the Pittsburg area was Chuck Darling (Grammer) and Kelly Carr (Heaton). On-screen they were the perfect team, but off-screen Darling was a self absorbed womanizer, and Kelly was a disagreeable know-it-all. When Darling was offered a better job he took it and everyone was happy. Years later, though, Chuck Darling was caught in an on-air rant that ended up all over the internet and was forced to withdraw from the higher market news station. When the call came to return to his old job with Kelly he jumped at the chance to salvage his career and possibly make some changes to his life as well. Everything's different and there are new people to work with and the big question is...can he and Kelly find their old on-screen magic again?
Back To You premieres Wednesday Sept 19th at 8/7c on Fox. I for one can't wait for this comedic duo to return to TV!

WEEKEND BOX OFFICE
Scarlett Johanson and Chris Evans had an OK weekend at the box office. The Nanny Diaries came in a no. 6 bringing in 7.81M. You can't fault the numbers though when there are still so many other great movies in theaters to go see. Superbad ranked no. 1 pulling in 18M and The Bourne Ultimatum is still kicking butt at no. 2 bring in 12.4M adding up to a staggering 185M overall. If you still haven't seen The Bourne Ultimatum go and see it! It is a fantastic movie, lots of action and lots of mystery, this Entertainment Diva has already seen it twice (and not just because Matt Damon is HOTT!). There is nothing like a movie on the big screen.
That's all for now. Stay tuned 'cause I'll be back with more entertainment news soon!
