MARIAH CAREY & NICK CANNON GET HITCHED

Multiple sources, including the New York Post and E! News, are reporting and confirming that 38 year-old diva Mariah Carey has married 27 year-old small screen actor Nick Cannon. The two were wed at the home Carey just bought in Eleuthera, the Bahamas.

Family members and friends are all phoning in their responses:

"Yes, we know," Linda Cannon told E!. "He called us and told us all about it. We are happy for him. If that is what he wants then we are happy for him."

"They have been smitten with each other for days, weeks," a friend told the Post. "And she's always had a crush on him."

"Everyone is happy to see her happy," Carey's friend told The Post. "And it could work out -" some people know each other for five years and get divorced, maybe this is true instant love."

"There was no pre-nup - there wasn't time," said another worried source.

E! also confirmed with a rep for Jacob & Co. that Cannon popped $2.5 million for the 17-carat ring recently spotted on the Carey's left hand. Cannon was once engaged to model Selita Ebanks, though they broke up 5 months after getting engaged, and Carey has been married twice before.
